Just woke up, dreamt the school had been converted into a huge military base? Don’t remember much else but it was pretty cool.

Might as well throw this bad boy up, some ink artist study I did ~2 years ago in GCSE Art. Only real work I’ve ever uploaded online.
A 1962 short film by Chris Marker, La Jetée is a series of stills through which the audience catches a glimpse of France in the aftermath of World War III. As humanity lies on the brink of extinction, scientists decide that its salvation lies not in the dimension of space but rather in that of time. They select a man obsessed with a memory from his childhood —the face of a woman— as one who can withstand the rigors of time travel. He is then sent back to experience a variety of moments, using the woman from his dreams as a cue and landmark to help find his way through time and to hopefully find resources to help the present. The rest of the film is experienced as a sort of dream, disorienting the audience as the time traveler tries to piece together the wheres, hows and whens of his childhood, his mission, and the mysterious woman.
Interestingly enough, Terry Gilliam’s 1995 film 12 Monkeys (which is one of my personal favorites) was inspired by La Jetée and actually recreates its final scene almost exactly. Apparently Panda Bear’s single Last Night at the Jetty is also based on the film.
